Hello and thanks for visiting our website.
If you have lived long in the Millwood neighborhood, then you have probably had some experience with Greenwood Reformed Church. Chances are that you or your neighbors have enjoyed such events as The National Neighborhood Night Out block party, the annual Easter Egg Hunt, Vacation Bible School, or the Halloween Trunk-or-Treat. Maybe you, or a family member, have been a part of one of the many community groups meeting at Greenwood, such as The Millwood Neighborhood Association, Brownies, or others.
But did you know, that behind each of these events there is a growing community of Christians committed to making a postive difference in this world in the name of Christ. Members of Greenwood Refomed can be found delivering furniture, clothes, and food, throughout the year to those in need. You will also find them, through a variety of events, raising money for everything from disaster relief to kid's camps. Yet even with all of this community involvement, we realize that nothing can make a difference in someone's life as much as a growing relationship with our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
We meet weekly at 10 AM on Sunday morning for a blended style of worship that draws upon both contemporary and traditional styles of worship. We have many educational opportunities from Sunday School to mid-week Bible studies. There are also small groups meeting throughout the week where you can develop relationships with God and with others. For those of us to whom English is a second language, there is an evangelical Spanish speaking congregation, Rios De Poder, worshipping in our sanctuary every Sunday afternoon at 3 PM.
So if you are looking for something more than just being another "face in the crowd", I encourage you stop by and visit us. At Greenwood you will make friends and become part of the family of God, as together we seek to grow in faith together and usher in His Kingdom of hope, peace, and justice.
Grace and Peace to you,
Rev. Jon Loper
And by the way, as you can see from my picture above, you don't have to dress up to show up. Thanks again. :)
