About Greenwood Reformed Church

Hello and thanks for visiting our new website! As you can see from linking to the various pages, a lot of things are going on at Greenwood Reformed Church. We have groups meeting for all ages and there are several events planned within the community. Just a few events to keep in mind are the Easter Egg Hunt the Saturday before Easter, Vacation Bible School during the first part of June, and the Neighborhood Night Out co-sponsored by the Millwood Neighborhood Association during the summer. All three of these events are annual favorites. But there are many more things in the works including a weekly Discovery Club for the kids, participation in the neighborhood garage sale, a weekly radio broadcast and more. The Spirit of God is on the move in our midst, giving us abundant opportunities to bring the good news of Jesus Christ to our neighbors, and we are excited about it. If you have any questions about out ministries feel free to E-mail Pastor Jon or the office. We also have links on our main page giving directions to our facilities, a calendar of upcoming events, and chat pages. And if you would like the opportunity to use your gifts and talents in the service of God, reaching out to a struggling world, with a congregation that is serious and joyful about bringing the hope and love of Jesus Christ into the community, then we would love to have you join us on our journey. Once again, I thank you for visiting our site. May God bless you with a wonderful day!

What We Believe

The Apostle's Creed

The Apostles' Creed

The basic creed of Reformed churches, as most familiarly known, is called the Apostles' Creed. It has received this title because of its great antiquity; it dates from very early times in the Church, a half century or so from the last writings of the New Testament.

I believe in God, the Father Almighty,
the Creator of heaven and earth,
and in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord:

Who was conceived of the Holy Spirit,
    born of the Virgin Mary,
    suffered under Pontius Pilate,
was crucified, died, and was buried.

He descended into hell.

The third day He arose again from the dead.

He ascended into heaven
and sits at the right hand of God the Father Almighty,
whence He shall come to judge the living and the dead.

I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy *catholic church,
    the communion of saints,
    the forgiveness of sins,
    the resurrection of the body,
    and life everlasting.

Amen.

*The word "catholic" refers not to the Roman Catholic Church, but to the universal church of the Lord Jesus Christ.
